Kuro To Host Friends Of James Beard Benefit January 30

Kuro, the critically acclaimed new-style Japanese restaurant here at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will host an exclusive, one-night-only Friends of James Beard Benefit dinner on Saturday, January 30, 2016, featuring a menu created by host and Kuro Executive Chef Alex Becker and a star-studded group of James Beard Award-winning chefs. The event, titled the “The Chef’s Palate,” will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The dinner, benefitting the James Beard Foundation (JBF), will be emceed by guest of honor, celebrity chef and Food Network star Robert Irvine. The event will kick off with an invitation only VIP cocktail reception at the hotel’s chic L Bar, where 50 attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a meet and greet with Irvine. Guests will then adjourn to Kuro for a five-course dinner, with each course prepared by one of the participating chefs, including Kuro host chef Alex Becker (Creative Culinary Director, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood); JBF Award Winner Norman Van Aken (Norman’s Orlando); JBF Award Winner Christopher Lee (Barcelona Wine Bar Restaurants); JBF Award Winner Allen Susser (Chef Allen’s Consulting); and JBF Award Nominee Pastry Chef Dahlia Narvaez (Mozza). The evening will conclude with a Q&A with the chefs moderated by Irvine. Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid, via silent auction, on a luxury Seminole Hard Rock Hotel package.
