Every week we’ll profile one of our upcoming acts set to take the stage at L Bar. In case you haven’t heard, we’ll now offer weekly entertainment featuring themed nights and some of South Florida’s best local talent to go with the lounge’s chic-sexy vibe.
Hen Siso was born and raised in Israel before coming to South Florida. She creates an intimate and memorable experience with every performance. On Saturday nights, you can find Hen on the ones and twos at L Bar while at the same time, beating on a drum to the tune of each song. Attend an event where she is the deejay, and you’ll be on your feet all night jamming to the sounds coming from the speakers.
What inspired you to become a Deejay?
Music has always played a huge role in my life. Since I can remember I have always have had a natural passion for rhythm and music. Every song takes me on different journey, and I relate to the world, through lyrics, beats and melody. I started my career as a singer and guitarist, but my journey has led me to further my passion by becoming a Deejay.
What has been your biggest challenge as a Deejay? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
The biggest challenge I face as a DJ, is finding the best mix that accompanies that specific vibe that I want to put into the world. I feel that finding new music is like finding a treasure. I am a perfectionist when it comes to music selection and quality of sound, sometimes the mix I am looking for isn’t always there. I overcome this challenge by being persistent in my hunt for new selections.
Did you have a favorite artist growing up?
Micheal Jackson because of his creativity, passion and all the details that he put into his music.
Aside from being a Deejay, you also play a lot of instruments. Which instrument is your favorite and why?
Guitar is my favorite, because it allows me to take any song into my creative world. I love to express myself by recreating a song in my own unique way. I feel all the emotions that the song allows me to feel as I go through the transitioning of making it my own style. There really isn’t anything in this world that gives me the same feeling.
What is your favorite venue to perform at?
Honestly, I do not have a particular venue that is my favorite. I play music because I love sharing it and uplifting as many people as possible. If I had to choose anything, I would say that I feel most blessed when someone asks me to be a part of their wedding day. To share my gift in this way is always very special to me.
Why are you excited about performing at L Bar?
I love the mystery of the crowd each week, because I never know who I get to entertain that week. I get the opportunity to show up every week with something new and fresh on my playlist. Also, adding the drum to the mix creates a vibe that you cannot create in any other way. The drum allows me to be intertwined with each individual song, which really connects me with the crowd.
