Interview with Diana Ross

Global icon Diana Ross is taking the stage at Hard Rock Event Center this Sunday for a sold out show. Before her visit to South Florida, we caught up with her to chat about what fans can expect from the show, her favorite song to perform, and more!

What can fans expect from your show at Hard Rock Event Center?

Lots of great music and fun and love.  Almost every song that I do has the word love in it and the feeling of love. It’s been that way from the beginning.

What song of yours is your favorite to perform?

“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” It’s really interesting about the song. When I get to it, I don’t know what it is, but as soon as I start singing the opening ‘ahh ahh,’ it’s like a meditation kind of song. Everybody is just up on their feet. It happens every time. There’s something about the song that really lifts everyone’s spirits. It’s amazing what happens. When I walk out on the stage, almost every song has a lyric that means something to me.

Whose music are you listening to these days?

I really love the song my son Evan and his wife, Ashlee, have recorded. It’s a beautiful love song called “I Do.” It’s the kind of song that you can sing to anyone you care about. The lyrics are, “You’re asking me if I love you … I do, I do, I do.” We really need to say I love you.

Would you ever like to make a return to acting? Will you ever act alongside your children?

Maybe if the right thing came up. I like doing films, but I like this — performing — best. I really love interacting. Seeing your faces and seeing your smiles.
