If you haven’t heard, Hard Rock Cafe is rolling out a whole new lineup of entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights! Each band was meticulously chosen to showcase their distinct musical and stage personality, bringing a high-energy “rock edge” to the stage. This we week, were featuring Jersey city powerhouse band, Changing Lanes!
How did you guys come up with the name, Changing Lanes?
The name came about as we started our endeavor into the cover band world. We knew we wanted to be as versatile as possible and have a name that shed light onto that. As musicians, we can take you on a musical journey from the classics to today’s top hits thus Changing Lanes or Changing styles musically from one song to the next. The name seemed to fit us nicely, and it stuck.
How long have you guys been performing together?
Changing Lanes formed in 2015 and like many other working bands, has undergone a few member changes, but every new member seemed to take us to another level and we have progressed as a band very quickly. We are constantly reinvesting in ourselves and setting goals. Whether it is working on our light show, new gear, or learning material, everything keeps going to new levels of improvement. These days, we have found our unit and look forward to the future with everything that we do.
Have You Ever Performed in South Florida Before?
We have never been down to South Florida as a band before couldn’t be more excited to get down there!
What was the biggest challenge you faced as a group?
I would say the biggest challenge we faced as a group would be finding our groove and getting a solid unit together in order to reach our full potential. We got discovered very early and thrown straight into the mix with some of the best cover bands around. It was a sink or swim kind of time in our lives but managed to keep our head above water and maintain a competitive product with Changing Lanes.
What are you looking forward to the most when performing at Hard Rock Cafe on 9/22-9/23?
We’re mostly looking forward to our back-to-back shows and getting on a plane as a band for the first time. It’s very exciting when you find yourself in an airport as a group flying out of state to do what you love. Especially playing at such a reputable name like the Hard Rock – it’s a surreal moment that no one would have expected us to be doing just a few years ago. As a young band, we’re proud of how far we’ve come and where we’re going. It’s nice to see that hard work truly pays off!
