In case you haven’t heard, we now offer weekly entertainment featuring themed nights and some of South Florida’s best local talent to go with the lounge’s chic-sexy vibe. This week, we are featuring Latin music sensation, Vikina! She’ll be performing every Thursday night for Latin Nights in the month of March.

What made you decide to become a singer?

I honestly can’t remember a time when I wasn’t singing. Music & performing has been my passion since I was a little girl. The idea of putting on a show has always attracted me.

Which Latin artist influenced you the most?

My favorite albums growing up came from Gloria Estefan, Shakira, & Selena. I used to lock myself in my room and invent choreography to their music, which I would later perform for all of my friends and family of course.

How long have you been on the local music scene in South Florida?

I am a 100% born and raised Miami girl! South Florida is a part of who I am and definitely a part of my music. I started attempting to write songs & put myself out there at the age of 17. A local band called Los Primeros picked me up and had me touring local high schools and festivals. With them I learned to combine my Latin roots with my pop & urban Miami influences.

What was your biggest challenge as a singer/entertainer? 

Finding my voice as a strong independent Latina has been my most challenging journey. I hope to make music that will characterize my generation of modern women.

What can people expect from you whenever they see you perform?

My music should move you and make you feel a little sassy at times. Life’s too short to be taken seriously so feel free to join me on the dance floor while I perform your favorite Latin & Top 40 tunes all night.
