Every week we’ll profile one of our upcoming acts set to take the stage at L Bar. In case you haven’t heard, we now offer weekly entertainment featuring themed nights and some of South Florida’s best local talent to go with the lounge’s chic-sexy vibe. This week, we are featuring Liza Forero!

What made you decide to become a singer?

I started singing professionally at the age of 16, where I was writing and recording my own music.  I knew the studio was where I belonged, there was no other place I wanted to be.  I then began to sing in high school winning talent shows, and taking lead roles in musicals, I knew for sure from the response and the feeling of success and pure happiness that this was my destiny.

What is your favorite genre of music and why?

My favorite genre of music is and will always be R&B.  It’s my first love!  It’s not necessarily what I sing now, but there’s so much in R&B music that has always moved me, particularly 90’s R&B.   My favorite artist and idol is Mariah Carey and while she combines Pop and Hip Hop, her smooth R&B tones always shine through, which invokes in my music as well.  One of my other favorite artists is the late and great, Aaliyah, which we all know was the princess of R&B!

What was your biggest challenge as a singer/entertainer?

My biggest challenge as a singer/entertainer was letting go.  Letting go of inhibitions and not caring about what people thought of me. Once I lost the fear, I let go and just got lost in the music, and really became ‘Liza Forero!’ Well, nickname “Lizi!” 😉

What are you looking forward to the most when you perform at L Bar this Friday?

This Friday when I’m performing at L Bar, I just want to connect with a new audience.  Being from Miami, I love when I get a chance to perform at new venues and in different cities!  Also, Seminole Hard Rock is a landmark and a place people from all over come to visit, and of course that gives me a chance to touch many people’s hearts and gain more support!  I just love singing so much, and I’m lucky to get a chance to do what I love!  I consider this performance an accomplishment for me.  Looking forward, can’t wait for Friday!!!!
